I have been a mountain bike coach for 15 years, and am an ex-elite athlete, having represented GB in both running and mountain biking. I began setting up coaching events for women in 2008, when I realised how few women there were at mountain bike events compared to men. Over the years I have set up women only coached activity weekends, race taster weekends and skills sessions, as well as coached all sorts of groups from performance athletes to military groups. I continue to run, ride and now swim as much as possible, and have left the racing bug behind in favour of fitness and fun. Firstly, I'd like to say thank you & that I really enjoyed the weekend! It was so much fun- I thought the balance between organised activities and doing your own thing was great- I did the longer run with Natalie on the Saturday and it was nice to have that time to. I thought the highlight of the weekend was Coasteering- I really felt like I had achieved something and I can't wait to have another go, it was so exhilarating! The instructor on that was really good and I can't recommend her enough. The food was super- well done, especially the roast veggies and cakes! Millie Wilson
Thank you for organising the wet weekend - I really enjoyed it. I loved the laid back nature of it and the number of activities. The coasteering and paddle boarding stood out for me, probably because I was most interested in doing those but also because the instructors were very good and made it FUN! I loved the food, the fire and the company. Maybe you and jay could get on that stage next year - I've heard your karaoke voice!!!! Natalie Newton
